The impact of pandemic on students

After almost half a year of lockdown, we are finally free and we are able to walk around without problems. But what did we suffer to get to this point? What are the consequences? In this article, we are going to talk about the impact of lockdown on our mental health and the changes of our relationships.

On the 8th of March the lockdown began: we couldn’t leave our houses; we started online lessons that lasted 6 months of suffering. When the lockdown was over we returned to study and work, but in painful conditions: we had masks that we couldn’t remove, we couldn’t touch others and we had to stay 5 meters away from each other. Now this has passed, we achieved a decent condition that will slowly make us live our normal life, but, with a drastic change of our mental health. What has changed and what have we discovered through studies? Psychologists have underlined a higher rate of depression and many people still have habits of the restrictions they suffered, like wearing masks and keeping distance from other people. Personally, I felt a feeling of sadness and loneliness, if phones hadn't been invented sooner, I'd probably have gone crazy with loneliness. Fortunately, all this is our past. Now we have to re-build our future!
